What Are the Requirements?
- You need a blog in order to make optimal use of this program.
The good news is blogs are not only Free but they
are super easy to setup! You will need to setup
your blogger blog on your own domain to use this program.
Although the program still posts to blogspot.com blogs, you may run into
instances where you will need to verify by entering random Captcha letters
for blogspot hosted blogs. So we recommend using Blogger's advanced settings
to FTP the blog to your own domain.
- You will need to know how to setup a Cron Job. If your
server has Cpanel, setting up Cron Jobs are very easy
to do! You will get a link to a video showing you how to set one up.
If you do not have cron on your server there are remote cron services
available. Also your server must allow you to
run cron every 1 hour for the PRO version. Please check with
your host support about this important requirement before buying. If your
host does not have cron, you can alternatively run cron from your desktop
using our free bonus EZcron. Or pay or service like
www.webbasedcron.com to run cron for you
- The server you install
RSS to Blog on must have "openssl"
enabled in the php library. This is a fairly new requirement since blogger
recently updated the Atom API to use https secure connections. Now if you
plan to post to blogger ... the server you will install this script to must
have ssl enabled php or openssl enabled for php. (Dont
let this technical "geek speak" scare you away! 90% of servers have php and
openssl enabled if they dont have openssl enabled it is as easy as sending a
support request to get it enabled for you.) If you plan to use
RSS to
Blog with Wordpress or any other blog, openssl is not a neccessity.
- You need basic FTP skills to upload the files and
change permissions on the server.
- You need at least one hosting account to host the
RSS to
Blog program.
- Lastly Make sure your host is running PHP 4.0 or higher
